The Royal British Legion, Sittingbourne & Milton Regis branch organised a one hundredth birthday celebration for Mr Leslie Stelfox, formerly of the Cheshire Regiment from 1931 to 1945 and the Territorial Army from 1945 to 1966.

The celebration took place at 11:30 hrs at the UK Paper Clubhouse, Avenue of Remembrance, Sittingbourne.

In attendance was the Right Honourable Gordon Henderson MP (Sittingbourne & Sheppey), the Mayor of Swale, Councillor Pat Sandle, Mr Roger Truelove; Deputy Leader of Labour Group on KCC, County Councillor for Swale Central and Borough Cllr for Chalkwell Sittingbourne, family, friends and members of the branch.

The branch chairman, Mr Fred Langworthy, presented Les with a "Certificate of Merit" on behalf of The Royal British Legion and signed by the National Chairman, Mr John Farmer.
